Atalanta have officially announced that goalkeeper Marco Sportiello has recovered from coronavirus.
Sportiello was the first player from La Dea’s squad to have contracted coronavirus announcing that he had tested positive on March 20 and one month after he still tested positive for Covid-19.
Bergamo has been one of the worst hit areas in Italy but the good news regarding the shot stopper’s recovery was officially announced by the Bergamaschi today.
“Atalanta BC inform that the footballer Marco Sportiello, subjected to two consecutive tests within 48 hours, tested negative for Covid-19,” the club wrote on their official website.
“The player, as per the health protocol Covid+ for professional athletes, will carry out all the checks in the next few days and can subsequently resume individual physical activity.”
