Fiorentina director general Joe Barone admits Federico Chiesa’s future is up in the air, because ‘he is sought-after by Italian and foreign clubs.’
The son of Enrico Chiesa is only under contract until June 2022 and negotiations over a new deal have been slow to progress.
“We’ll see what his future will be at the end of the season,” Barone told Radio Toscana.
“He is sought-after by Italian clubs, but also from foreign ones.”
Inter and Juventus are the favourites to land Chiesa, but there is also interest from Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal and more.
Chiesa is 22 years old and so far this season has contributed seven goals and five assists in 26 competitive games.
“I have an excellent rapport with Federico and we speak often. He is a Fiorentina player and got back to his old self thanks to working with (coach Beppe) Iachini, overcoming some physical problems.”
