Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan has claimed he’s ‘fine’ but is worried about the impact of stopping for over two months before the resumption.

The Inter loanee has been influential at the Sardegna Arena this term and could be set for a return to San Siro after the current campaign.

The Rossoblu were flying high in the first half of the season but saw their form plummet during the winter and haven’t won in Serie A since their 4-3 win over Sampdoria on December 2, 2019.

The Rossoblu were flying high in the first half of the season but saw their form plummet during the winter and haven’t won in Serie A since their 4-3 win over Sampdoria on December 2, 2019.

Now, the attacking midfielder has claimed the forced break could make for an even more difficult return to the pitch.

“I’m fine, but to resume play you must also consider how you will return,” he said on Instagram. “If you think about it, we are on vacation for a month in the summer and now we are already at two.”

Rolando Maran was sacked just before football came to a standstill and Walter Zenga has been appointed as his successor, yet to lead the side from the dugout.

Zenga took over a Cagliari side sitting 12th in Serie A, seven points behind Napoli at sixth but with one game in hand.
