According to reports in South America and Spain, Martin Caceres is one of the Fiorentina players who tested positive for COVID-19.

The Viola confirmed that three players and three members of staff were shown to be positive for coronavirus ahead of a return to individual training.

They have been placed into self-isolation for 14 days and will be tested again.

According to El Pais in Uruguay, Cien Por Ciento Deporte in Chile and Spanish paper Sport, one of the players who tested positive is Caceres.

The Uruguay international just turned 33 and is believed to be asymptomatic.

Meanwhile, today Fiorentina director general Joe Barone confirmed that they are on the road to recovery.

“We have gone from six positive to five, because one of the staff members has now tested negative,” Barone told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“As well as that, two of the players were negative on the first swab, so we are waiting for the result of the second test tomorrow.”
