De Vrij donates CL debut shirt to Bergamo Hospital

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij has donated the shirt from his Champions League debut against Tottenham to help raise funds for the Bergamo Hospital.

The defender wants to help in the fight against COVID-19 and has decided to donate his shirt No6 to’s #TheBiggestGame project.

Inter won the match 2-1 and De Vrij assisted Matias Vecino’s injury-time winner in the 2018-19 group stage opener.

The money raised from the donation will go to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo.

“Hi everyone, I have decided to donate this shirt to the Bergamo Hospital,” he told in a video on Instagram. “I have a special attachment because I used it in my Champions League debut against Tottenham.

“I hope you are all good and I send you a big hug!”
