Lionel Scaloni admits ‘it’s better’ for Argentina if Lautaro Martinez plays with Lionel Messi at Barcelona but maintains Inter are ‘already a great team’.
Speculation linking Lautaro with Barca has peaked during the coronavirus pandemic, and Scaloni confessed a move to Camp Nou would only enhance the striker’s understanding with Messi for his national team.
“If Lautaro’s lucky enough to play with a teammate like Messi then it’s better for us,” the Argentina CT told RTVE.

“If Lautaro’s lucky enough to play with a teammate like Messi then it’s better for us,” the Argentina CT told RTVE.
“I think he’ll be the benchmark striker for the next few years and I hope he can do well.”
Despite that, the former Lazio and Atalanta wingback assured he had no qualms with the 22-year-old staying at Inter.
“Lautaro’s a great striker so he has to play for a great team, but he’s already at a great team competing at the highest level, so it’ll be very difficult to pry him away.
“If he does change clubs, however, I hope he does well.”
