Serie B side Benevento are ‘tracking Fernando Llorente,’ confirmed their director of sport. ‘He’d represent the top choice for us.’
The Witches were running away with the Serie B title when the coronavirus pandemic forced a shutdown and are already looking to next season in the top flight.
Along with coach Pippo Inzaghi, they are seeking some big names to make a splash in Serie A, including Napoli striker Llorente.
“We are tracking Llorente, along with other players,” Benevento director of sport Pasquale Foggia told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“If you ask me do I like Llorente, well obviously the answer is yes. He was in the Champions League Final two years ago and his career speaks for him.
“He’d represent the top choice for us.”
The 35-year-old Spaniard has scored four goals in 24 competitive games for Napoli this season.
He has Serie A experience from two years at Juventus in 2013-15, then returned for the Partenopei in September 2019 as a free agent.
