Borussia Dortmund confirm Mario Gotze ‘will leave this summer’ as a free agent, with Milan, Lazio and Roma among the clubs interested.
The Germany international turns 28 next month and his contract is also due to expire at the end of this season.
“Mario will leave this summer,” announced Borussia Dortmund director general Michael Zorc on Sky Sports Deutschland.
“It’s a decision that both sides have made after discussing the situation. Mario really is a good guy.”
Milan are the favourites for Gotze, but there is also believed to be Serie A interest from Lazio and Roma.
His career has been beset by injuries and he scored three goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.
