As expected, Edgar Barreto has officially terminated his contract with Sampdoria by mutual consent.

The Paraguay international was only tied to the club until the end of the season and barely featured this term, but it’s believed he is returning to South America for personal reasons.

Barreto played at Sampdoria for five years, registering five goals in 110 games for the club.

Barreto leaves Serie A after 264 games and 11 goals, while he also featured 63 times in Serie B.
