Lokomotiv Moscow have reportedly decided against buying Joao Mario from Inter, but Sporting CP, Olympique Marseille and Real Betis are interested.

According to Sport-Express in Russia, the club has informed Inter it won’t be activating the €18m purchase option after his one-season loan spell.

The 27-year-old was signed from Sporting CP in 2016 for €40m, but never really made an impact at San Siro.

According to Sport-Express in Russia, the club has informed Inter it won’t be activating the €18m purchase option after his one-season loan spell.

The 27-year-old was signed from Sporting CP in 2016 for €40m, but never really made an impact at San Siro.

There were two disappointing loan experiences at West Ham United and Lokomotiv Moscow, but he looks destined to remain on Inter’s books for a little while longer.

His contract runs to June 2022, so there is still time to find a permanent buyer.

Transfer reporter Nicolò Schira points towards Olympique Marseille, Real Betis or even a return to Portugal for Sporting.
