The Russian Football Federation has confirmed that fans have been granted access to the matches when the season resumes on June 21.
The federation has been authorised by the health authorities in Russia after having revealed the severe financial difficulties of several clubs due to the pandemic and resuming without fans would only worsen the situation.
In the first phase, the report reads that clubs will only be allowed to fill 10 per cent of the respective stadiums’ capacity.
The clubs will decide how to distribute the fans in the stands, as this depends on the capacity of each stadium.
Zenit St Petersburg have a stadium capacity of nearly 70,000, whilst others, such as Orenburg Gazovik only possess a 7,500-seater for their home games.
But football in Russia will be back in late-June, with fans in the stands.
