Italy CT Roberto Mancini believes Juventus, Lazio and also Inter will ‘fight it out to the end’ for the Scudetto. ‘Home advantage has been wiped out.’

The Coppa Italia is set to resume first from June 12 or 13, with Serie A fixtures back from June 20.

“All coaches are going to have some problems, because the players have been training at home for two months and it won’t be easy to go straight back into competitive matches,” Mancini told Rai Sport.

The Bundesliga has already resumed, while La Liga and the Premier League are on track to start up just before Serie A.

“The tempo of the German games has been very sluggish compared to usual and I think that’ll be the situation elsewhere too. In some Italian cities, it’s going to be really very difficult to play football in July.”

When the lockdown due to COVID-19 occurred, Juventus were one point clear of Lazio, with Inter just behind.

“Lazio and Juve will fight it out to the end, but we’ve seen in the Bundesliga that home advantage has been wiped out,” continued the Italy coach.

“With that in mind, I think Inter too could have a possibility of getting back into it. We could see some surprises, but Juve remain the favourites because they have such a large squad that can rotate.”
