Milan will finally have their decisive meeting with potential new coach Ralf Rangnick next week, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Sport Italia transfer expert believes the face-to-face conversation between the German and CEO Ivan Gazidis will be crucial for whether he accepts the job or not.
Former director Zvonimir Boban was fired for confirming the club had contacted Rangnick as early as December, just weeks after Stefano Pioli was appointed to replace Marco Giampaolo.
Rangnick himself then told the German media that he was approached, but had not yet decided if this was the right move.
Multiple sources maintain Rangnick wants absolute control over Milan’s strategy, essentially working as both director of sport and coach.
He is currently head of sport and development at Red Bull, following all the clubs in the company, but was previously a tactician at Hannover 96, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.
