Barcelona have reportedly targeted Napoli star Fabian Ruiz as an alternative, should Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic slip.
The Bosnia international Pjanic has been linked with a move to Camp Nou, but Mundo Deportivo claims the Blaugrana have identified the former Real Betis man Fabian as a viable alternative.
The Spain international’s contract in Naples expires in June 2023 and has allegedly been followed by Real Madrid in recent months, but Barcelona could try to beat their rivals.
If the proposed deal with Pjanic should fail, the newspaper claims Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will ask for €60m to release Fabian.
The 24-year-old arrived for €30m from Betis in July 2018 and has established himself as a key member at the San Paolo.
This term, the attacking midfielder has played 22 Serie A games and contributed two goals and two assists in the process, with the Partenopei sitting sixth in the League.
