Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone steps up as a candidate for the vacant position as federal council of the Lega Serie A.
The Viola general manager Barone is ready to succeed Stefano Campoccia and will be up for election on June 5, according to Tuttosport.
In recent months, Barone has already played an important role as head of the task force presenting proposals for the resumption of football to the Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora.
Barone was known as the Viola President Rocco Commisso’s ‘right-hand man’ before the latter purchased Fiorentina last summer.
He was then announced as CEO and given a place on the board of directors in Florence.
