American businessman and former Bordeaux owner Joseph DaGrosa is reportedly interested in buying Roma.

Dan Friedkin’s bid to purchase Roma seems to have been taken off the table, and La Repubblica is claiming DeGrosa could be about to capitalise.

The 55-year-old bought Bordeaux in November 2018 but sold the Ligue 1 side barely 12 months later.

He then showed an interest in taking over Newcastle United but lost out, seemingly to Saudi Arabia’s investment fund.

Despite selling the French side, DaGrosa has since made no secret of his desire to reinvest in another football club.

“In terms of our other plans, we’ve maintained all along we want to be players in sports, particularly soccer, and we're looking not only in Europe but in South America right now,” he told NBC Sports back in December.

“Negotiations are going on right now with a couple of clubs, and I think the best is yet to come for GACP Sports.”

The Giallorossi, for their part, have been in American hands since 2011, initially through Thomas DiBenedetto before James Pallotta increased his share and became President.
