The AIA President was happy to confirm that football’s different governing bodies had ‘clarified’ the common path to restart the top three tiers in Italy.

“We talked about things of an economic nature,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “Then we clarified the ideas on the restart of Serie A, B and C.

“On Monday, in the Federal Council, each League will say how they start again and how to complete the various championships.”

The AIA chief didn’t want to focus on the different back-up plans, in case Plan A can't be completed.

“Let’s think about Plan A, the most important, then on the others. I think it’s in everyone’s interest to look for the path to complete the championship.

“The rest is questionable, and we can talk about it. I saw a nice harmony.”

But the reports of clubs opposing the proposed algorithm for the resumption hasn’t gone unnoticed, but Nicchi has claimed there’s almost no way back.

“Yes, the Federation is preparing it. It’s declared almost irreproachable. But we hope to not have to get to that.

“The fundamental thing is to finish the season and start the next one.”
