Growing Champions League Final options

If Istanbul is not suitable for the Champions League Final, alternative options are Lisbon, Munich, Frankfurt and Geneva, according to reports.

A decision is expected on June 17 during the next UEFA Executive Committee meeting.

Istanbul was meant to host the Final before the coronavirus pandemic swept across Europe, forcing all tournament to be suspended.

The idea now is to play the Champions League and Europa League in August, potentially as a Final Eight or Final Four competition format in one country to minimise travel.

There are a few different options, as the Associated Press and Calcio e Finanza point towards Lisbon, Munich and Geneva, while German newspaper Bild adds Frankfurt to the candidates.
