There were 85 more coronavirus deaths in Italy on Friday, but almost 2,000 people have recovered in the last 24 hours.

Although there have been three times as many new positive cases since yesterday, 77 percent of them came from Lombardy alone.

Furthermore, nine regions – Trentino Alto Adige, Sicilia, Abruzzo, Umbria, Sardegna, Valle d’Aosta, Calabria, Molise and Basilicata – reported no new deaths.

As of Friday, there have been 234,531 positive tests of COVID-19 (+518), with 36,976 of them currently active (-1,453).

As of Friday, there have been 234,531 positive tests of COVID-19 (+518), with 36,976 of them currently active (-1,453).

A total of 163,781 people have recovered (+1,886) and 33,774 have died.

Out of the 36,976 active cases, 31,359 are in self-isolation (-1,229), 5,301 are in hospital with symptoms (-202) and 316 are in intensive care (-22).

There have now been 4,114,572 tests, an increase of 65,028 since yesterday.
