The FIGC has announced that Serie A clubs can make up to five substitutions during matches for the rest of this season.
The move comes as part of a temporarily new ruling by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), designed to help sides resume their respective campaigns following the coronavirus lockdown.
However, a statement released by the FIGC added teams were still limited to three intervals for making substitutions per game, excluding half-time.
In the event both teams change players at the same time, that will count towards one of their three intervals.
On the other hand, clubs will be awarded a fourth interval to make a substitution in Coppa Italia ties going to extra time.
The ruling will last until the end of the 2019-20 season, which restarts on June 20, and also applies to Serie B.
