While RB Leipzig suggest Roma must lower the agreed purchase option, Patrik Schick insists he ‘would love to stay, as this club and city are perfect for me.’
The striker moved on loan for €3.5m with an option to buy for a further €29m, but coach Julian Nagelsmann confirmed this week that they “have a strict budget, so don’t think we can sign Schick.”
They will try to negotiate the cost down, but the Czech Republic international has no doubts about his intentions.
“I am not the right person to ask, because it’s the two clubs who have to reach an agreement,” Schick told Sport Buzzer.
“I have said many times that I would love to stay in Leipzig. The club, the way we play, the coach and city are all perfect for me and I adapted straight away.”
The 24-year-old scored nine goals in 18 Bundesliga matches, along with two assists.
“I am satisfied, but I can always do more. I had this ankle injury that affected my form at the start of the season and the fans here haven’t yet seen the best of Schick, but I am working every day to get there as soon as possible.”
