It could set the path for a surprise return to Italy for the 27-year-old Azzurri star Verratti, who has yet to play in Serie A.

The newspaper claims the former Bianconeri coach Allegri will want to bring Pjanic to the Parc des Princes and could sacrifice the Italy international to make it happen.

Verratti left Pescara for PSG eight years ago and has since become an integral part of the Ligue 1 giants, helping them to seven League crowns, four Coupe de France and five Coupe de la Ligue.

Pjanic has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks but the Old Lady ask for Arthur Melo in return and the Brazilian seems unwilling to cooperate.
