“There’s an agreement, a buyback option. We’ll see if it’s used,” Luca De Simone told Teleradiostereo.

“There’s an agreement, a buyback option. We’ll see if it’s used,” Luca De Simone told Teleradiostereo.

“In the meantime, Mandragora’s also an important player for the Italian national team. A player like him is hard to find in the Italian market.

“It’s clear that some top Italian clubs are after him.”

De Simone was then asked about rumours Roma could swap the 22-year-old for Bryan Cristante.

“Not with us directly. We’ve never had any contact with Roma. I go with what Petrachi said yesterday.

“The two sets of directors probably talked in January, but it was a complicated deal for the player’s value and there being only a few days to close it.

“There was an enquiry from Roma after Diawara’s injury.”
