Max Allegri is causing tension at PSG, according to L’Equipe, as Leonardo wants the ex-Juventus coach, while the club owner backs Thomas Tuchel.
Multiple sources have pointed to Allegri as the favourite to take over in Paris from next season, having completed his sabbatical year after five seasons at Juve.
Director Leonardo is believed to be targeting the Italian as the ideal coach to lead Paris Saint-Germain next term.
However, L’Equipe and Tuttomercatoweb note that President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is eager to keep the faith with Tuchel for a while longer.
Tuchel is still under contract until June 2021 and has no intention of walking away, so Allegri could again be left on the backburner.
Allegri has been linked with other roles, including Arsenal and Manchester United.
