It won’t be easy, but coach Quique Setien made the first step by benching him in favour of Arturo Vidal in last night’s 4-0 La Liga victory over Real Mallorca.

So far this season, Arthur has made 24 competitive appearances for the club, scoring four goals with four assists.

He turns 25 in August and was purchased from Gremio for €31m in the summer of 2018.
