Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon aims to equalise Roberto Mancini’s record of six Coppa Italia crowns against Napoli on Wednesday night.

The veteran goalkeeper turned 42 in January, but is still flying high, in with a chance of writing history again this evening.

Juventus qualified for the Coppa Italia Final with a goalless draw against Milan last Friday and gifted Buffon the opportunity to protect the Bianconeri goal in yet another Final.

He has previously picked up five Coppa Italia winner’s medals, along with nine Scudetti and six Italian Supercups.

The World Champions plays for the record Cup winners, as the Old Lady top the list with 13 editions of the Coppa Italia, four ahead of Roma.

More importantly, the goalkeeper could become the joint all-time record Coppa Italia holder, matching Mancini's undisputed run of six.

He picked up four at Sampdoria and two with Lazio, the last one coming in 2000, but he prolonged his great cup record as a coach, winning with Fiorentina, Lazio and twice with Inter.

Only Buffon has the chance to equal Mancini’s record tomorrow, after having picked up the first Coppa Italia with Parma in 1999 and helped by the dominance of Juventus under Max Allegri.

But he is accompanied by eight other players at five titles during their career.
