The Federation has succeeded in convincing the CTS (technical scientific committee) to soften the quarantine, so only the player who tests positive for COVID-19 will be isolated and not the entire squad and coaching staff for 14 days.

However, the Government needs a new decree or to change the existing decree first in order for that to become effective.

“I just spoke to Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora, and he pledged the effort to reduce the quarantine tomorrow, which is good news for all those who are passionate about football,” Gravina told RAI Sport.

“The huge viewing figures for the Coppa Italia semi-finals show the passion that there is in the country and how much we wanted this moment to arrive.

“We also received the good news today that the opening game for the European Championship will again be at the Stadio Olimpico, when Italy take on Turkey.”
