According to the latest report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia and others, the club has formally suspended Petrachi, a stepping stone to his imminent dismissal or demotion.
Current team manager De Sanctis is ready to take over, but it’s pointed out he has long worked with former Roma director Franco Baldini.
Baldini has been working as an unofficial adviser to Roma President Pallotta for years, much to the chagrin of others at the club who believe he has too much power and no oversight.
Francesco Totti cited Baldini as one of the main reasons he left the club, both as a player and then as a director.
With De Sanctis becoming director of sport, he’d effectively be a conduit straight to Baldini.
