Inter’s Europa League opponents Getafe will not be able to count on left-back Vitorino Antunes when the teams face off in the Round of 16.
The player’s contract is due to expire on June 30 and Getafe announced this afternoon that he will not extend the deal.
It means Antunes won’t be part of the squad when they play the Europa League in August.
The tie was originally cancelled in February due to the coronavirus pandemic, which started on Italian soil in Lombardy.
The Europa League will now be a Final Eight tournament in August, staged in four German cities from August 10-21.
However, the outstanding Round of 16 ties are set for August 5-6, which in the case of Inter-Getafe and Roma-Sevilla will go from two legs to just one match.
