There were another 47 coronavirus deaths in Italy on Friday, but positive cases and ICU admissions are falling again.

Despite there being a slight uptick yesterday, the death toll in 24 hours has dropped by 20 and positive tests have dropped by 80.

There are also eight less people in intensive care, compared to Thursday’s increase of five.

Finally, five regions – Marche, Campania, Valle d’Aosta, Calabria and Basilicata – reported no new cases.

As of Friday, there have been 238,011 positive tests of COVID-19 (+251), with 21,543 of them currently active (-1,558).

A total of 181,907 people have recovered (+1,363) and 34,561 have died.

Out of the 21,543 active cases, 18,750 are in self-isolation (-1,316), 2,632 are in hospital with symptoms (-235) and 161 are in intensive care (-7).

There have now been 4,889,103 tests, an increase of 57,541 since yesterday.
