Arkadiusz Milik is reportedly discussing a new contract with Napoli, as his €50m price-tag is putting other clubs off.
The Poland international’s deal is due to expire in June 2021, so he had been expected to leave this summer.
Juventus, Inter, Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal had all been linked with the tall centre-forward.
However, the €50m asking price is stalling negotiations for a player who scored 12 goals in 24 competitive games this season, including three in four Champions League appearances.
According to Il Mattino newspaper and Calciomercato.com, President Aurelio De Laurentiis has not entirely given up on Milik yet and is trying to offer him a new contract.
It’s reported to be a wage increase from €2.5m to €3.5m per season, still considerably less than the salary on offer at Juventus.
A meeting between Milik, his agent and Napoli directors should clarify the situation and see if there is room for negotiations.
