Verona and their coach Ivan Juric have learned well from mentor Gian Piero Gasperini, picking up where they left off before the lockdown by beating Cagliari 2-1 in the rescheduled Week 25 game despite seeing Fabio Borini sent off.

Because of that red card, Borini is suspended, with Matteo Pessina and Valentin Eysseric injured, so Mattia Zaccagni and Valerio Verre support striker Samuel Di Carmine, fresh from his brace at the weekend.

It’s a special game for Amir Rrahmani, who has already signed for Napoli during the January transfer window for €14m.

Marash Kumbulla could yet follow him to the Stadio San Paolo this summer, but Sofyan Amrabat preferred to sign for Fiorentina at a cost of €10.5m.

Gattuso’s Napoli have been celebrating their Coppa Italia triumph for days, taking the trophy along as the guest of honour at Kalidou Koulibaly’s birthday party over the weekend.

That also means they are already guaranteed a place in the Europa League group stage, so the fight for sixth place suddenly isn’t quite as urgent, but Gattuso won’t stand for such an attitude.

Dries Mertens is rested, even though he is present on the shirts of every teammate with a special patch commemorating his all-time club record haul of 122 goals.

Milik steps into the centre with Matteo Politano and Lorenzo Insigne, while David Ospina returns from Coppa suspension to replace Alex Meret in goal.

Kostas Manolas is still out of action, but Stanislav Lobotka returns to the bench following a muscular problem, while Fabian Ruiz is rested.
