Udinese midfielder Rolando Mandragora faces months out after damaging knee ligaments, reports Sky Sport Italia.
Mandragora was in tears as he left the field during Udinese’s 1-0 defeat to Torino on Tuesday evening.
Coach Luca Gotti admitted he was fearing the worst after the game and, as per Sky, the 22-year-old has indeed ruptured his ACL.
Not only does the setback rule him out for the rest of this season, but he is also likely miss the start of the next one.
Juventus have a €26m option to buy back the Italy prospect, who had been linked with the likes of Fiorentina and Roma as a counterpart for other deals.
It now remains to be seen whether he returns to Juve or goes elsewhere this summer.
