Tevez donates salary to charity

Former Juventus star Carlos Tevez has vowed to donate the remaining six months of his Boca Juniors contract to charity.

Tevez’s deal was due to expire on June 30, but the 36-year-old is ready to stick with Boca for the time being, opting not to take a wage.

“I’ll stay with Boca, of course. I want another chance to play in the Copa Libertadores,” he told Radio la Red.

“I don’t know what will happen with the cup in light of the pandemic, but I want to play in it.

“I accepted [Boca’s] proposal without any problems. We made some changes and sent a counter-offer.

“My agreed salary will go directly to charity. It’ll be a six-month contract. After that, we’ll sit down and see if we can extend it.

“The first offer was for six months, but there’s a lot of uncertainty about the future so it’s better to keep going like this.”

‘Carlitos’ scored 50 goals in 96 games for Juve between 2013 and 2015, winning two Scudetti and reaching the Champions League Final.
