La Dea have seemed positively unstoppable since the lockdown ended, crushing Sassuolo 4-1 and fighting back from 2-0 down to beat Lazio 3-2.

“We had two very good games, especially as there was a little uncertainty beforehand on what would happen, but they really gave us a boost,” said the coach in his press conference.

“Playing every three days, we have to make sure we are always focused and don’t let anything slip. After all, 11 games means there are a lot of points up for grabs.

“There are always some aspects that we need to work on and improve, so that acts as further motivation. The victories were important and the squad has a clear idea of its objective.”

The same cannot be said for Udinese, who are struggling just above the relegation zone.

“They are coming off a defeat with Torino, but still put in a strong performance and I expect it to be a difficult match,” added Gasp.

Having qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals, Atalanta find themselves better equipped than most to play this compacted Serie A season.

“We are playing a lot more and training a lot less, so we use games are tests to improve or confirm what isn’t working.”
