Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael seems set to remain at Cagliari and the parties will reportedly sit down after the current campaign to sort out his future in Sardinia.
Tuttomercatoweb claims the 38-year-old, who’s current contract expires this month, has agreed to extend until August 31 this year.
The former Hellas Verona goalkeeper looks set to stay as Robin Olsen’s future seems to be elsewhere and the report claims he will sit down to renew with the Rossoblu in August.
Roma have previously been linked with the Brazilian, who could replace his compatriot Daniel Fuzato as a back-up in the Italian capital.
But if Olsen decides to leave Cagliari after the current season, Rafael could be given an opportunity to extend his career in Sardinia and get more responsibility for the 2020-21 season at the Casteddu.
