Lille centre-forward Loic Remy is reportedly flying to Italy for a medical with Benevento, who should be promoted to Serie A tonight.
According to Sky Sport Italia, a deal has been done for the 33-year-old, who has agreed a three-season contract.
He is a free agent, as his contract with Lille expires tomorrow, which is how a small club like Benevento can afford his salary.
Remy found the net 14 times in 30 competitive games for LOSC this season.
His previous clubs include Lyon, Lens, Nice, Marseille, QPR, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Las Palmas and Getafe.
He moved to Lille in the summer of 2018.
Pippo Inzaghi’s Benevento are shattering Serie B records this season and need only a point this evening to get the promotion party started.
