Official: Olsen leaves Cagliari

Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen has announced his departure from Cagliari after opting to cut his loan spell short.

Olsen was drafted in on a season-long loan last summer, replacing Alessio Cragno who had been struck down by a serious shoulder injury.

He played 19 times for Cagliari, keeping four clean sheets, but Cragno has now recovered.

“A long and mixed season to an end, and I’m proud of my time here, I’ll miss all the fans and my teammates,” wrote the 30-year-old on Instagram.

“I’m thankful for all your love and support through this year. Wishing everyone at [Cagliari] best of luck for the remaining part of the season!”

Olsen returns to Roma, although he will not be able to take part in any of their remaining games this term.

He has been linked with a switch to Portuguese side Sporting CP in recent weeks.
