Newly promoted Mantova have reportedly hired Alberto Gilardino as their coach for the upcoming Serie C season.
Gilardino had been linked with Piacenza, who decided to hire Vincenzo Manzo over the former striker, but Tuttomercatoweb has claimed Mantova have reached an agreement with the coach in the last few hours.
Mantova were promoted to Serie C over the table and the owner Maurizio Setti, who is the patron of Hellas Verona too, has decided to give Gilardino an opportunity to remain in the division.
