Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has claimed Bologna ‘dominated but must do better’ after a 1-1 draw with Cagliari and insisted that Giovanni Simeone’s equaliser should have been ruled out.

Bologna were left to rue wasted opportunities as Musa Barrow’s opener was cancelled out by Simeone and made sure the two sides shared the spoils at the Dall’Ara.

“We dominated, there was no game,” Mihajlovic told Sky Sport Italia. “We were superior in every aspect.

“Cagliari are an excellent team, but we did very well.”

The Bologna coach was convinced Giovanni Simeone’s equaliser should have been ruled out for offside, as Joao Pedro is involved in the build-up.

“Look at the goal: Joao Pedro jumps, the ball goes under him and it affects my goalkeeper. Therefore, it’s offside.

“What do I care about the other position? How can you not see that?”

But he insisted that the home side were not looking for excuses after sharing a point with the Casteddu.

“It was our fault that we didn’t win, we aren’t looking for excuses. We must do better. We did better than in the last two, but we have to make better use of our opportunities."
