Roma defenders Chris Smalling and Davide Santon are likely to be out of action for at least seven to 10 days with muscular problems.

Smalling limped off during the 2-1 defeat to Napoli and had tests at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome this afternoon.

According to multiple reports, there were no lesions, but the adductor issue will see the England international ruled out for 7-10 days.

Full-back Santon was next to go into the clinic, and it’s reported his calf problem will again mean seven to 10 days out of the squad.

That will mean they both miss Roma’s games against Parma, Brescia, Verona and possibly also Inter.
