Juventus had the chance to increase the gap down to Lazio at second in Milan, but the Rossoneri stunned Maurizio Sarri’s men with an impressive performance to turn 0-2 into a 4-2 win at San Siro.

But Moggi claimsthe Old Lady faithful ‘must also accept defeat’ and points at the standings when he hears criticism of Juventus’ performances in 2019-20.

“After hearing all the critics, I read the newspapers and said: ‘Show me the table’,” Moggi told Radio Bianconera. “I thought we had been surpassed but I saw that we are first, so maybe someone is wrong in their reviews.

“If Juventus are first, it means that they have done what they need to do. Unfortunately, a bag game happens.”

Moggi claims the Bianconeri were too relaxed after having seen Lazio lose 2-1 to Lecce earlier in the day.

“Juve relaxed after the Lecce result, then found a gap with [Adrien] Rabiot, then [Cristiano] Ronaldo cleverly increased the lead to 2-0 and Juventus acquired the peace that you can’t have in football.

“Last night, the problem wasn’t in defence but in attack. When [Paulo] Dybala is there, they are superior in numbers. Yesterday, that was missing.

“In front of us were a livelier opponent, we must also accept defeats.”
