According to Sportitalia, Roma have reached an agreement with Manchester United to buy Chris Smalling for €20m, spread out over several years.
There were more negotiations in progress today between the Premier League side and Giallorossi consultant Franco Baldini.
Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà now maintains they reached a breakthrough.
It’ll be an extension of the loan for one more year at a cost of €3m, with an obligation to buy at the end of the 2020-21 season for a further €17m.
The payment will be spread out over three years, taking some of the financial pressure off Roma.
