Parma have announced that a member of their first team has tested positive for COVID-19.
A statement on Parma’s official website clarifies the person in question did not show any symptoms, is not a player and has gone into self-isolation.
“Parma Calcio 1913 report that the last round of tests highlighted a positive case of COVID-19 in relation to a (non-playing) member of the first team.
“The person in question, who is completely asymptomatic, was promptly isolated in accordance with federal and ministerial directives.
“The club also reports that all other members of the first team tested negative for COVID-19 and have begun isolation at the training ground but will be able to continue their activities regularly, while being constantly monitored in accordance with the current protocol.”
The Ducali’s first team must now spend the next two weeks confined to their training complex, as per the current health protocol.
However, it does not affect their ability to fulfil their remaining Serie A fixtures, the next of which comes tomorrow against Bologna.
