Franck Kessie equalised from the penalty spot, as Milan came back to claim a point in Naples on Sunday

After the match, Koulibaly claimed it’s ‘difficult’ for defenders to avoid giving away penalties in Serie A and calls for VAR to ‘help us’.

“In the moment it was a bit fast, it didn’t seem like a penalty,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Then, when I came down to the dressing room, they said it was a penalty.

“But, in general, we could defend better on that occasion.

“We have to be careful; football is a contact sport and when you can’t do anything in the area, it becomes difficult.

“VAR must help us. I think it will get better over time and we have to be patient.”

But the centre-back claimed Napoli must continue down the same path and felt they could have gotten away with the three points at the San Paolo.

“They didn’t have many shots on target. We must score more and concede less. We have to keep working like we are doing."
