Ilija Nestorovski felt Udinese were ‘unlucky’ against Sampdoria on Sunday and insisted the Friuli ‘don’t look at the table’ ahead of the visit from Lazio.

The Bianconeri grabbed the lead midway through the first half, before Fabio Quagliarella equalised right before the break, something that the 30-year-old Macedonian felt turned the game completely.

“Initially we felt good, we went ahead and then unfortunately we conceded in the last 10 seconds of the first half and they came back to life after the break,” Nestorovski told Udinese TV.

“In the end, I would say that’s what made the difference. Anyway, we must look ahead and forget this defeat quickly because in two days we will play against Lazio.

“We must recover as much energy as possible to play a great game.”

Udinese sit 15th in Serie A after the 3-1 defeat to Samp, six points above the relegation zone, but the centre-forward doesn’t feel it represents the quality in place at the Dacia Arena.

“Today, we were unlucky. In my opinion we would have deserved to at least equalise. In the end we lost but we must lift our heads up and look ahead to have a good game against Lazio.

“We don’t look at the table because we are aware of our strength, we know that we are a great team and we take one game at a time.”

Udinese host Lazio on Wednesday, looking to bounce back immediately from the setback against the Blucerchiati.
