Fali Ramadani, agent to both Ante Rebic and Luka Jovic, met with Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara today to discuss the two forwards.
Rebic is on a two-season loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, with Andre Silva in Germany for the same duration, but there is no agreed purchase clause.
Milan are working on rectifying that, as they want to buy the Croatia international outright this summer after his impressive 11 goals in 2020.
With that in mind, multiple sources state that Ramadani had lunch with Rossoneri directors Maldini and Massara.
There are some complications, as Fiorentina are owed 50 per cent of Eintracht’s sale, having sold Rebic to them for just €2m in 2018.
However, that’s not the only subject up for discussion, as the same agent also represents Real Madrid forward Jovic.
The 22-year-old was teammates with Rebic at Eintracht Frankfurt and they formed a spectacular front pairing, so would relish working together again.
Napoli had also been linked with Jovic, who is believed to have a €50m price-tag, although he could be available on loan with option to buy.
It is the start of a new era for Milan, because last night it was announced Stefano Pioli would renew his contract to June 2022 and negotiations with prospective new coach Ralf Rangnick had been abandoned.
This puts power back into the hands of Maldini and Massara, who had been pushing for Pioli throughout the talks between Rangnick and CEO Ivan Gazidis.
