Vucinic is currently studying to become a coach, but the former Roma and Juventus star told Corriere dello Sport of how coronavirus set him back on his way.

“Coronavirus scared me,” he explained to the newspaper.

“I was in Montenegro at the time and I had a fever of 38.2. The temperature dropped, but I took a swab and it came back positive.

“I didn’t take it well. I didn’t have any particularly severe symptoms, yet I was spent three days in a COVID hospital ward.

“I self-isolated, I took another swab 12 days later and it came back negative. Now I’m studying to become a coach.”

The Bianconeri look like winning their ninth straight Scudetto, but it has been regularly suggested their dominance is due to a lack of credible competition.

“It’s always Juve, they’ve been winning in Italy for years but people think it’s a given.

“There’s no team who win because of a lack of rivals.”

The 36-year-old also spared a thought for Roma, who remain on the lookout for a buyer.

“I wish them all the best. I hope a wealthy owner comes in soon who can bring the team back to the top, where they deserve to be.”
