Inter could try offering Ivan Perisic to Manchester United in exchange for Alexis Sanchez, as Bayern Munich won’t take up their option on the Croatian.
Alexis has been on loan, but his parent club is refusing to let him stay on past the Europa League Round of 16 tie with Getafe.
Negotiations have so far failed to make a difference, but Sport Mediaset believe a solution is in the offing.
Manchester United had been determined to sign Perisic when Jose Mourinho was on the bench, but Inter are hoping they still want the Croatian under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Bayern Munich paid €5m to take Perisic on loan for a season, but do not seem prepared to activate their option to buy.
Both Perisic and Sanchez are valued at around €20m, so there could be a straight swap to resolve everyone’s concerns.
However, purchasing him outright is from next season, so does not fully decide whether Sanchez will be allowed to play the Europa League for Inter.
