Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa maintains ‘even a draw would’ve been harsh and we’re here commenting on a defeat’ to Atalanta, but Dejan Kulusevski will only get better.
The Ducali had taken the lead through Kulusevski and dominated the first half, but La Dea hit back to win through Ruslan Malinovskyi and Papu Gomez.
“I heard people say that Atalanta usually allow very few chances to their opponents, but we created so much today,” D’Aversa told Sky Sport Italia.
“We were naïve on the equaliser, as the ball split the wall on the free kick. Even a draw would’ve been harsh and we’re here commenting on a defeat.”
Kulusevski scored against his old club, even if he barely played for Atalanta, those performances on loan at Parma earning him the big money transfer to Juventus.
“Kulusevski has quantity and quality. He can improve, but if he realises that when he gets close to the box, defenders don’t tackle because they’re scared of giving away a penalty, then he can do even better.
“The products of the Atalanta youth academy really do start strong in their careers, they have the right mentality, and I think he can make the difference at Juventus too.”
